3 Common Pitfalls of Online Marketing

Dear Savvy Business Owner:

As you may know, the three most common pitfalls of online marketing usually
revolve around your website. A lot of people maintain that they are ready to
market their products or services online. They want to attract more traffic,
make sales, and grow their business.

Problem is, some people DO NOT know how to build more traffic to their websites
or make a good impression on their visitors. That's why I decided to outline the
three pitfalls you should be aware of and help you get the most of your online
marketing efforts. I am sure a few simple tips below will guide in you the right
direction and help you achieve your professional and financial goals faster.

Pitfall # 1 - Your Website Has No Focus

First of all, you need to ask yourself the following questions: "How do I want my visitors
to respond to my offer? What do I want them to do when they visit the website?"
You probably want them to leave their contact information, including email address, phone
number, etc. Some people want their visitors to make a purchase right off the bat. These
are the only two possibilities, and your website should be focused on one of those options.
It is perfectly okay to offer your readers some free content, however, it should eventually
drive them to do one of the things I have listed above. So, make sure your website it focused!

Pitfall # 2 - You Don't Have a Powerful Attention-Grabbing Headline on Top

It astonishes me that with all the training material that's out there about marketing, over
70% - 80% of the websites still say "Welcome to my website." If everybody else is doing
that, it's not going to impress me or grab my attention. Isn't it obvious? What you need to
do is reveal your biggest benefit upfront, and it better be something that sets you apart
from the competition. You should put a lot of time and effort into creating a compelling
headline. Believe me - it's all worth it.

Pitfall # 3 - Not Using Testimonials on Your Website

Let me assure you that the greatest selling copy comes from testimonials. This is a key
selling principle. Testimonials come from third party feedback. And you just can't use too
many of them. I recommend that you post testimonials on your main page and your sales
pages. A few good words coming from your customers or clients can make a huge
difference. If you have audio of some of your customers giving you testimonials, you
should put Real Audio on your website.  How do you think it is going to affect
your sales?

I hope my straightforward but crucial suggestions above will help you enhance your
marketing and significantly improve your credibility with your prospects.
Good luck with your endeavors!
