A Few Words About Career Fulfillment

Let me ask you a simple question - do you like what you do?
Studies suggest that only 20% of people can respond with a
resounding "Yes".

When we get up in the morning, we all need something exciting to do
and something to look forward to. Otherwise, life has no meaning...
Whether you are a student, full-time employee, business owner,
or volunteer, your daily activities invariably shape your identity.

We spend most of our waking hours doing something we consider a career, occupation, vocation or job. Sadly, most people underestimate the influence of their careers on their overall wellbeing. Yet, career
fulfillment is one of the most essential aspects of our existence. If you don't have  the opportunity to regularly do what you enjoy - the odds of your having high wellbeing in other areas of your life will diminish rapidly. Studies suggest that people with high "career wellbeing" are more than "twice" as likely to be thriving in their lives overall.

For instance, if you have a social life but are unhappy with your job, you will spend too much time worrying or complaining  about it
to your friends. Eventually, this will cause stress and take its toll on your health. All other areas of your life will start deteriorating...

According to The Economic Journal, unemployment might be the only major life event from which people do not fully recover within five years. One landmark study suggests that our wellbeing actually recovers more rapidly from the death of a spouse
than it does from a sustained period of unemployment. Pretty amazing, isn't it? It doesn't necessarily mean that getting fired will damage you forever. Experts maintain that the key
is to avoid sustained periods of unemployment when you are actively looking for a job but unable to find one.

Most important. find something you enjoy doing - and do it
everyday. Whether that means working in an office or
starting your own business, what matters most is being
engaged in the career or occupation you choose and
are enthusiastic about.
